  • File has a Title defined in Properties
  • Styles used to define headings
  • Headings used in sequential order, with no skipping ahead
  • Bulleted and numbered lists utilize Word's built-in list feature.
  • Images have sufficient Alt Text
  • Borders, shapes, background images, etc marked as decorative
  • "In Line with Text" selected for photos (Alt Text) requiring a logical reading order
  • No bare URLs - descriptive link text used instead
  • Only one Heading 1 in the document
  • Tables have defined Header Row (and First Column)
  • Tables used only for information with column and/or row headings
    • (Columns used for layout)

Microsoft PowerPoint

  • All slides use built-in layouts 
    • Custom styling defined on the Slide Master
  • Bulleted and numbered lists utilize PowerPoint's built-in list feature.
  • Images have sufficient Alt Text
  • Borders, shapes, background images, etc marked as decorative
  • No bare URLs - descriptive link text used instead
  • Only one Title Slide in the document 
  • Tables have defined Header Row (and First Column)
  • Tables used only for information with column and/or row headings
    • (Multiple content boxes used for layout)
