Dr. Lester Johnson

Dr. Lester Johnson is an educator, storyteller, and community leader from Browning, Montana. He holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership and serves as Superintendent of Glacier County Public Schools. Over the years, he has also held multiple roles at Blackfeet Community College and other institutions, focusing on workforce development, student success, and community advancement.
Dr. Johnson is widely admired for his gift of storytelling and his deep knowledge of Blackfeet history and culture. His stories bring to life the significance of places like Badger/Two-Medicine, the enduring leadership of Eloise Cobell, and the wit and teachings of Naapi. He has shared these stories with audiences from Montana to New York, inspiring students and communities alike.
Dr. Johnson also brings valuable insight into Indian Education for All (IEFA), connecting traditional knowledge with contemporary education to strengthen cultural understanding and student success.
