ARTH 494: Contemporary Practices: Venice Biennale and Renaissance Art History

Find your place in art history by visiting the Renaissance of Florence Italy followed by experiencing the world’s largest and longest running international contemporary art exhibition in Venice, Italy. Students will develop their own studio practice in the course before immersion in the global art scene in Italy.

To Get Started
Step 1: The application deadline is December 1, 2025. Positions are limited, so please apply early to get preference. Download the application and turn it into the Office of International Studies, Liberal Arts, 700, along with your receipt of the $150 application fee. and the $500 deposit, both of which are included in the overall price.
Step 2: Register for the spring course, ARTH 494: Contemporary Practices: Venice Biennale and Renaissance Art History
Step 3: Be interviewed and accepted into the faculty-led program
Step 4: Make payment arrangements with the Business Office to complete the program payments (final payment deadline varies)
Step 5: Finalize any outstanding documentation for study abroad
Step 6: Purchase round-trip airfare to Italy – coordinate with faculty leader and other students
Step 7: Participate in mandatory Outbound Orientation
